Leeds and Princess deny estrangement rumors

June 11, 1926

William B. Leeds, Jr., the son of the late tin plate millionaire, and his wife, Princess Xenia of Russia arrived today in Chicago, according to the AP, "from opposite sides of the continent." Both denied reports of marital difficulties, due to Leeds being in California, and his wife who was in NYC. Both described the reports of marital estrangement as "absurd," each explaining that they were "utterly in love," and were making plans for a second honeymoon. The couple said "they would leave for the East next week."
